Withrow High School Principal Showcases “No Limits” Policy with 50-Mile Run on the School’s Track

Life can be challenging at times. But, with the right mindset, you can achieve anything you want. That’s the message Jack Corey, principal of Withrow University High School, wants his students to remember. So, to prove it, he ran 50 miles around the school’s track in celebration of his 50th birthday on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.

Students were able to join Corey for a few laps around the track.

“I talk with students all the time about how you can limit yourself based on what you think you can do and what others say you can do,” Corey said. “I want them to know that most of the limitations we have in life are self-imposed,” Corey said.

So, starting at 4:30 a.m. on November 21, Corey began his laps around the track. Every fourth lap equaled a mile. It took him about 10 hours to complete the activity, and he allowed students to run with him throughout the day.
