A fleet-footed approach to recruiting the best and the brightest new teachers to Cincinnati Public Schools drew more than 500 potential candidates to the district’s 2015 Job Fair on January 24 at Woodward Career Technical High School.
About 275 interviews of prospective teachers were conducted at the fair, which was scheduled a month earlier than originally planned in an effort to attract a deeper pool of candidates, according to Paul McDole, Interim Human Resources Director.
He added that heightened use of technology, including Google Apps, streamlined the registration process and will make processing the applications more efficient.
The occasion also provided opportunities to showcase the district’s My Tomorrow high school initiative aimed at graduating students who are ready for college and careers.
“The candidates came away extremely impressed with our commitment to support the best in teaching and learning to prepare our students for success,” he said.
